Sharing a blessing at Chili’s

We went out to dinner as a family just last night. Some friends had given me a gift card for Christmas and I was looking forward to eating out without spending money! Our server was friendly, attentive and fun. My 12 year old said how great she was and that we better give her a good tip. Then he remembered our practice of surprising someone with an extravagant gift at Christmas and suggested we give to her. His uncle had encouraged all the kids to join in Sharing the $100 blessing a year ago. So we all decided this was a $100 blessing moment! But we had no $100 bill. We pulled together what we did have and game up with 5 $20s. So we put it in a napkin with a note and this website and our youngest son gave it to her and told her thanks and Merry Christmas! She cried and thanked us and we all knew we had just been the hands and feet is Jesus to someone he loves very much.

Gas station help

I was going to give my $100 away during Christmas time but didn’t feel led to a specific person. I prayed that God would make it obvious. The other day me and my boyfriend were on our way to the beach and that morning before we left I felt like I needed to put it in my car. We stopped at a gas station and as we were filling up we heard this lady crying on the phone with her husband upset because he used the card and she needed gas and the card wouldn’t work. I immediately felt sadden and my heart was racing and it was clear I needed to give her the money. When I gave it to her she was shocked, she asked me why I would ever do such a thing. I told her I overheard her on the phone and my parents raised me right. She went inside to get her gas still sobbing of joy.

For me it was the blessing not the $.

I had just started a new job and it was significant pay downgrade from my previous position. I took the job because I knew this position would help me change my life for the better. My husband and I were struggling not so much financially but just in general happiness.
One night we were closing up and a woman comes in and she is a bit frazzled. She was making a payment and I helped walk her through the transaction. She apologized profusely for making a mistake on the envelope and thanked me for my patience. I thought nothing of it. She finished up and walked out thanking me again for being so sweet.
I continued my closing duties. As my trainer was locking the front I hear him say, “your customer is coming back”. He held the door open for her and she strolled right up to the counter. When she got there she said
“God told me to come back and bless you.”
Now I am not a very religious person but the company I work for is so I very politely thanked her and let her know I was just doing my job.
Then she proceeded to tell me a story of a time when she was in hardship and how someone had blessed her and it changed her life for the better. I politely listened and smiled as she talked. Then she held out her hand and said
“You need this blessing. And when you are ready and able you will know when to pass it on.” In her hand was a $100 bill.
I told her I absolutely could not accept it. It was just too much. She put it on the counter and said “God wants me to leave it with you.” And she walked out.
I saw her again months later. She addressed me as her favorite employee. And then she asked if her blessing helped me. I proudly stepped back from the counter and pointed at my belly.
“After 10 yrs of being told I could not have children, I am pregnant. The blessing I didn’t know I needed.” A huge smile shot across her face.
After the baby was born I had him at the store before my shift and she was there. I got so excited for her to meet him. She rubbed his forehead said he was beautiful. Then she smiled at me. I haven’t seen her since that last interaction, but I will never forget her. And now I am ready and able to pass it on.

At work

I was at work one day not having a good day and some nice man came up to me at my restaurant and told me to take $100 I was wondering if he wasn’t playing with me and not really giving it to me. I was struggling with some things and paying my bills I needed to pay and he gave me the money and told me to keep it. I was really blessed to know someone was there trying to help me. I want to thank this man for doing this for me he is such an amazing man and his heart was in the right place doing something so amazing.

Uber Driver

Uber driver: This young man was very kind and friendly. He had only been married a few months. I had just been discussing With a friend the $100 challenge. We had talked about how cool it is to set aside $100 bill and ask God to show you someone who you felt needed the money. I did not expect this to happen so quickly after that discussion but when this young man asked me about my Christmas traditions I realize that this is one of my Christmas traditions. Thanks for for the kindness and congratulations on your new marriage! Keep God first in everything you do and choose to put your wife’s needs above your own.

Taco Bell Drive through

This evening I took the challenge. I was in the Taco Bell drive-through line and the young lady who came on the drive-through speaker seemed so sweet. I knew immediately this was what God wanted me to do, I had been looking for an opportunity and God said to me this person needs to be blessed. I truly hope she shares her story here because I am praying for her and it would be kind of cool to hear how God used this in her life.

My challenge

I gave my $100 challenge to a young man at the ticket booth on my way into the movies because I know how hard it is for high schoolers/college kids to pay their school debts and I just felt like it was the right person.

What a Lifesaver!

I cannot begin to express my gratitude for the money that was given to me by an anonymous donner! I was off work for about 2 months, in the hospital twice during that time and had surgery. I had no insurance so my medical bills piled up. I only made it through because of my small savings and help from family. I am back to work now and doing much better. I believe in helping others and I have done this all my life.
Thank you again for your generosity and kindness.
